Speedometer sticking. any ideas?
Lately my 99 EX civic(4dr), the speedometer has been sticking up until 20mph then it jumps to 0 to whatever speed im going. last saturday i was going to work and the meter didnt work at all no matter what speed i was going but when i got off 8 hours later, it worked fine(it only jumpts from 0-20 about 1/3 of hte time). does anyone have any ideas whats wrong? do i need to buy a new assembly for the speed. ?

Sounds to me like either your guage cluster is sticking under 20mph or your VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is starting to go out. The VSS is on the top rear of your transmission. You can try to make sure that all of the connections on the plug to it are still good. The only thing that would lead me to believe that it is your guage cluster is that it's only doing it up to 20 mph. A faulty speed sensor usually jumps around and can go completely dead at times.

mine does the same thing, I wasted $100 on a VSS, it didn't help at all. Guage clusters are hard to find and expensive. You would think someone could repair it
