What needs to be done to convert my LS to GSR...
Tranny. My 3rd gear in my LS is eating **** on me after a measily 140k miles
So i need to know what i need to do in order to change out my LS 3rd gear to a GSR 3rd gear. And if i change out the 3rd, does 4th's ratio change also?

I wouldn't recommend putting a GSR third gear in a LS tranny... I doubt it will go prpoerly in synch with the other gears for a smooth power band... I would just replace it with an LS third gear set... However if it were first or second gear, you could replace with them with GSR gears because they have the same ratio...

thanks for not helping out a single bit
My goal is to have an LS 1st and 2nd (same as GSR) and a gsr 3rd and 4th, so basically its a GSR tranny with LS 5th gear.

If theres too much money involved, you could also try changing the tranny fluid to synchro mesh w/ friction modifier. The fluid isn't that much but it should help. But thats just my .02 cents.
Good luck with your tranny.

hey, my ls third gear went out at around 150k miles. i just took out the trany and put a B16 trany, on, it was one of the best things i did to the car. it accelertes much faster than it used to.
