Do I need an amp for my crystal coaxial components?
I just installed the crystal csx615 in my integra...im running no amp right now, and at high volume levels the speakers sound like they are distorting...is this due to the lack of an amp?
The speakers handle 130w peak...so i really dont see how they are distorting on only 50w

To begin with, peak power does not mean crap. You need to look at RMS ratings. Now a speaker that peaks at 130 has an RMS rating at like, say 70 watts. Now a headunit, say a 50x4, that only put out like 22 watts RMS, so more than likely, what you are doing is underpowering the spaekers, and that is what is causing the distortion.

Yes, because your headunit does not produce 50 rms watts to your speakers.
