Default 90-91 front seat belts crx/civic!~!~

i got a 91 hatch and i hate it that the seat belts doesn't go all the way up, i know we all got a 10+ old car and all got this problem. the seat belts get in the way and rips up the interior and everything when its caught in the way while closing the door. is there a way to fix this instead of getting a complety new seat belt assemble?

honda had a recall on 90-91 seatbelts. you should talk to your local honda dealer about getting it fixed.

Man, my seatbelts do the same thing, it drives me crazy. I think I might just call honda and see what they have to say about it. Just let them mess with it for the day. And I might be in business since my hatch is 90.

Spraying some Silicone on the loop up at the top of the window helps.

Pull the belt out fully from the door panel, not through the top loop and then let it retract.

I bet it rolls back up real quick.

The problem (I'll bet) is that stupid loop by the top of the window.

man I've slammed the door on my seatbelt so many times the plastic around the clip is all cracked off. My only solution is to install the 4 point harnesses I bought.

The RECAll was only for the buckles. See the post I made in the above thread if you want to find out how to get Honda to replace not only the buckles, but also the seat belt webbing, and retractors for FREE.
