Well the way that I see it, between the Hondata that was mentioned earlier, that is for OBD1, this is for a OBD0 car as staded in the tread, and if you have at least looked into both units the Hondata is a bitch to tune because you have to burn chips for it evry time you cange 1 thing, look around it will cost around $500 to tune it well the each time. On top of that it really is not cheaper, lower starting price, but then you need boost, and you have to get datalogging to tune it with the rom reader or somthing like that and all togather it will cost the same or more, it does have data-logging which the zdyne does not. But to tune the zdyne is real time, you plug into a laptop with a converted phone line and can tune with you car running, it is far easier to tune. This other thing to tune for 4 dollars I am more interested, could you please tell me more????
With Hondata, your laptop can act as an emulator...basically the cars chip...while you make changes to the tune based on the datalogging.
Save the tune, burn it to a chip with a prom burner(used to be around $100) and plug it into the ecu. Problem is, for obd-0 you'd have to send them a B16 pr3 or pw0 ecu.
And the Zdyne, while easy to change tunes real time...what do you make those changes based on? You have to install a a/f ratio meter just to get an idea what the mixture is. Having all these cool fields to alter but no idea what the changes are actually doing is kind of fruitless.
A good alternative to the Zdyne is for obd-0 is http://www.turboedit.org
