5th Gen Headlights suck!
My wife has a '96 4 door EX 4 cyl and her headlights suck at illuminating the road!
I have a '98 Prelude Type SH with fogs and it's like night and day difference. Even with my fogs off, I still can see farther down the road and it's brighter! It seems that her beam pattern is more down and to the right.
I just got done (like 30 min ago!) replacing her stock bulbs with Sylvania Silverstars. A tech at the Honda dealership suggested this when I said I wanted to get her a foglight kit. I will probably get the foglight kit anyway, but I still don't like her headlights!
After doing a search, I noticed that other people have complained about the same thing. I have taken her car to the dealership and had them adjust the headlights and (to me) they still look like they are pointing to far down and a little to the right!
I don't mind the "to the right", but I want to adjust them up but I am afraid they will blind people if I do.
If anyone has experience with this I would appreciate a reply! Thanks.

Yeah they kinda suck. USDM headlights normally point to the right so it wont blind oncoming drivers on the other side of the road. JDM headlights point to the left. Best you can do is have them adjusted and get a good set of fogs. HID headlights would also improve lighting but theyre illegal to sell now.
well you can always adjust em yourself to your own preference, just make sure they dont end up in someones face on the road,
for my 5th gen all you need is a long phillips and turn the ***** slowly...
&
dont everrr get those halo projections unless you do a bixenon swap, other wise youll get worse lighting than ever before...

I am just going to add the fogs if I can still get them.
I'll just leave the headlight adjustments alone.
The Sylvania Siverstars are an improvement! I'll probably replace her high beam bulbs with these when they burn out.

i second that the headlights suck...just make sure you never lower the car because they get even worse when you do (yes i guess it is possible to get worse)

on the usdm ones if i recall correctly they're on top of the headlight, it's a long bolt that adjusts the entire assembly up and down.
as for the original poster, the sir-knockoffs with the h4 conversion work fairly well and the adjustability of the beam pattern is alot more precise. the lighting isn't spectacular by any means but it's a step up from the 9006's, with a good bulb they'll suffice.

umm the screw for up and down is near the upper right hand corner for the drivers side....its a phillips screw... and for side to side if im right its near the highbeam socket, u need a long phillips to reach in there and just slowly turn the sucker... the adjustment is not very precise so u gotta work on it slowly...
foglights help tremendousley, but fifth gen headlights suck as well, we get no options and replacements are expensive. I am looking at a lude with the andok retrofit. Im prolly gonna buy, if not the jun 92/

you can buy h4 bulbs almost in any car parts or accessorie stores, if im not wrong you might have to change the plugs to h4 plugs cause they use the 3 flat metal plugs i think... | -- | something like that but the middle ones on top... if you do attempt it make sure it fits and wont melt anything.. i never done it before, but thats how im guessing u would do it....
