It will be fine as long as you have good fuel managment and tuning. What are you using for fuel managment?

I would definately get a fuel pump, and either a VAFC or SAFC. If you have the tuning resources some injectors wouldn't hurt as well.

me and my friend are in the process of turboing a stock jdm b16 and the stock boost is set at 7 pounds. For fuel management we have a walbro 255 in tank fuel pump, and 440 injectors. For tuning we purchased a VAFC..theres also other things you might wanna get such as a recalibritaion kit, or maybe even a different head gasket to lower the compression. After it is tune and the injectors are in we are turning the boost up to about 10-12 pounds

allmotor89 is referring to my car...and no 8 pounds is not to much with the right tuning and the proper fuel to support it...do a lot of research that is my advice to you good luck bro

i have about the same thing you are doing and i would pay the money for hondata it is worth the money in gold. i really like it and then take your car to a shop and dyno it with a bigger pump and 440's or bigger you should be fine at 8psi that is what i have been running for a while.
