Default 5th gen electrical problem

Okay I was driving and I suddenly smelled plastic burning. So I shut my stereo off and heard my turn signal clicker sound was on. SO I pulled off to the side and turn off my car and I checked where it was coming from (blue box right above the fuse box) and it was really hot. Turned car back on, it stopped making the noise but none of my turn signals worked. Nether the turning or the hazards worked. I got home checked the fuses both for the hazards and the turn signals, both were fine.

Could my turn signal relay gone bad or something like that?

thanx

I checked the fuses again and found out that the guy who had my car last put a 30 in the turn signal fuse.

Can anyone tell me what the blue box is?

thanx

whats it supposed to be stock? IS there any type of wires that were running from there or around there. Also check your turn signal wires under the hood and fender. Thats all i can say.

your screwed. If you smelled burning plastic, wires have melted, circuit boards have fried (obviously).

Electrical repairs like your take alot of time and alot of effort. Be prepared to spend many hours tracking down the burn-spots & repairing and/or shelling out big bucks. Sorry dude.

No, i never had a problem with the eletrical system so i never messed with it. I know not to put a bigger fuse but i guess the dumbass who had the car before me didn't.

Hope fully it just fried the relay.

I checked most of the wires none seamed to be burnt. Then again so much crap down their hard to tell what is what.

I pulled apart my dash and found out it burnt two wire harnesses. The one that goes to the stering wheel controls. And the one that connects the relay.

Think the relay went bad also. Or anyone have any other places you think i should check.

Thanx.
