Alright I am the really on a budget and was wondering, if I have my b16a3 built for turbo, the short block and the head (9.5:1 pistons, full-race rods, benson sleeves, p&p, full-race valvetrain) would it be ok to run this motor for 3-4 months until its boosted? Yes I know it will suck power wise because of the compression but it wont hurt anything without it being turbo charged right?

 

you will be fine its just like breaking your motor. i bet it be a good race for a gsr.

nah you'll be fine. I'll be doing the same thing, plus it'll make things easier since I'll have to take emmisions when the car is back up this year .

 

I purposely ran my built motor for 1500mi and 3 oil changes before I put on the turbo to break in the motor. It's better to run the motor before putting on the turbo

 

**** ur motor will last longer without the turbo.
