I would go for the built motor since everything will be brand new. If you go turbo on a used motor you never know when the motor will blow. However, if you built your motor and went turbo that would be a different story. It all depends on your budget. How much do you plan to spend and what do you want out of this new power, i.e. autox, drag race, etc.

I can't shake the thought that a highly tuned N/A motor can't possibly last as long as a turbo motor, while still making less power.

However, I like the feel and sound of an n/a motor. In the end, it's a decision you have to make. But know this...a turbo motor is generally cheaper and more durable.

well, my budget would not permit me to go build w/ turbo, so heres my thought, turbos are high maintenence as all hell, and from personal experience, everyone i know that have turbo cars, spend way more than they ever thought they'd have to b/c of numerous turbo problems, everything from failing wastegates to blown motors (god rest their souls), but maybe the unlucky monster just struck the DC area. either way, i'd like to have a quick n/a motor, i think thats my choice, then perhaps i'll add a turbo later, w/ some quick changeroonies, so if anyone could give me advice on good gsr parts like cams, pistons, rods, intake manifolds, etc, thatd be great....mmkkkay? thanks a bunch peter...(office space)

If you know how to work with a turbo motor than everything will go fine for you. I would go with a turbo on your gsr.
