Default car wont start ::ignitor problem?::

i am so fustrated and tired right now. i thought maybe you guys could help i searched but no luck.

so my tach has a mind of its own and i thought my ignitor was bad, but after checking things out it seems like the wire to my tach is flaky. problem is i didnt pay close enough attention to the wiring of the ignitor when i took it out. ***DOES ANYONE HAVE A PIC OF THE INSIDE OF AN OBD! DIST. WITH IGNITOR HOOKED UP?***

I found this, bu ti think it is a gsr dist. and it looks different than mine.

I have a z6 in the car now converted to obd-1.

the car will crank but not start. (i dont have spark) I am using a msd coil too.

if the dist is bad can i use an A6 dist if i notch the legs on it?

You sure your spark plug wires are in the right order?

the wires for the ignitor dont have enough slack in them to place them on any terminal...when you unplug them, the plugs sit right next to the corresponding terminal on the ignitor.

i dont have a z6 dizzy so i cant get you a picture. and i dont think you can use the obd0 dizzy with an obd1 ecu, as far as i know. you should be able to use an obd2 dizzy if that helps at all...but i dont know if any will directly bolt to the z6 head.

well i have cut and spliced wires for the external coil, so it doesnt really line up like a stock one would. I bet someone has a photo somewhere.

look for what looks like a metal gear with teeth right by the ignitor. make sure that is making contact with that metal piece that it touches. i spent a lot of money on ignitor and coil before i realized that that wasn't making contact, and that was my problem. it only has to have a tiny gap to not work. hope this helps

i spliced the lines that went the coil so they would reach. is that bad?

plus one of the lines also connected into another wire. I wish i coudl shoe a pic, its not pretty but it was running for over 4 3 months like that.

well since this thread is helping me out i was wondering if anyone could give the wire colors and what they do for the igniter for a z6 dist. here is a pic to help.

wire color #1=??? wire purpose #1= ????
wire color #2=??? wire purpose #2= ????
wire color #3=??? wire purpose #3= ????
wire color #4=??? wire purpose #4= ????

If they are the same as teh 88-91 then jsutpurose woudl be good. my book doesnt show 92-95 diagrams.

Same thing on my car... except, I bought a new one and it didn't start. Ended up being the IGNITION COIL.
