Default Rollbar alignment *Safety First =-)*

Am I good to bolt or is something off? I think its good enough to bolt but I wanna ask you guys first. I don't wanna be a skippy on safety equipment installation.

My seat is pulled closest to the rollbar as possible. I'm still worried about hitting my head on the bars.

I'm thinking it's more the seat than the roll bar..

I don't think the rollbar was designed specific to your seat, If ya know what I mean.

Just keep adjusting until everything fits correctly, you should probably pick up some roll bar padding too.

Sorry, i can't tell if you are missing anything, but it sure looks like a nice set up! Where does it mount to the tub in the back? Any pics of the back? Oh ya, what brand is it?

More of a weekend/fun car but I would occasionally track it. I have a beater to beat on so I don't really consider it a daily driver if I don't drive it everyday to school.

weekend/fun car with a rollbar? I'm confused.

Oh, and you NEED padding. It's not a 'maybe'. You have to get padding.

Weekend/Fun car meaning I take it out on weekends for my own leisure. This car is going to see some track sessions. Therefore I would not consider this car much of a daily driver.

Yes. I'm looking forward in purchasing some padding in the future.

You should get padding on it before you drive it anywhere, not just in the future. Metal bars aren't so soft on the head in an accident.

I agree. Better safe than dead and headless.

Looks fine, btw. Maybe its just the seat?

I agree with Chris, the alignment looks fine. If you want to double check, Bob #455 has that same rollbar in his car so you could message him and ask for his opinion.

I think the seat just has a small headrest, I think you'll be ok.

Now that I take a closer look, it doesn't look like you scooted the main hoop as far back as it can go. When you bolt it down, make sure you have someone holding it still. And you should drop the bolts into the finished holes as you are drilling to make sure that the plates line up with the holes in your floor.

And it would be best to use some silicon sealant on the bottom side backing plates to make sure no water gets in and rusts the bar.

Andre,
The bar positioning looks very good... If you feel uncomfortable with it being too close to your head feel free to move it back a little bit.

Did the Bar come as scraped up as it looks in the pics? If so Fed Ex should be shot! That bar was in perfect condition when I sent it. What a rip off.

The rear bars also look well placed and it is as simple as drilling the holes and putting the backing plates on loosly in the front. With those loosly on start drilling the holes for the back feet and you are on your way to having a very secure car!

Drop me a line if you need anything else!

Oh ya, definitely will want to get some good padding for the areas around your head. Best of luck!

U got to spot weld all the mounting pts. Eventually the bolts will looseing from chassis flex and rip holes in floor pan. It happened in my friend's CRX back in the 90's with autopower cages in just bolting on.

I went a little crazy with the padding since I had extra I did the whole main hoop and cross bar and the rear bars. Don't ask me why, I got carried away.

And no you don't need to spot weld. My roll bar has been fine. I think it's a matter of installation error if it ripped out.

Question here is: did he use the lower mounting plates?
I've had an Autopower bar in my 87 rex for years w/o any similar problem.

Some people would use only one but I'm planning on nutting 2 nuts on em.
