was just wondering how long youve had ur abs plastic lip for before you broke it. how low is your car?

had my first one my hatch for a month or so til i hit a cat...destroyed the lip and cat was nowheres to be found. baught another one the next day and had it on for about 3 months...now the car sits in the driveway totalled...got rearended

 

Been 11 months. I have 2 long cracks, holes all over the bottom, but its still on my car. My lip is exactly 4 inches off the ground. Gonna replace it with a stock lip when it eventually falls off or shatters.

 

had my car with the abs lip for a little over 2 years. never broke or cracked it. lowerd the car abut 2.5 inches.

 

My frind lost his on the highway after two weeks or so doning 90 and ran it over

 

Had mine 5 months till I hit a glass bottle while going 70mph..kept it on another 2 months until it fell off..

 

ive had mine for about a year now with no cracks and no real signs of getting beat up...:knocks on wood:

 

is stock ITR lip ABS? if so, i've had mine for 1.5 years now, lowered 2.25" with no cracks and such. Just a whole lotta rock chips in the paint

 

not sure if your talking about a stock lip or whatnot but my stock lip has been on since 94 and is fine

 

3 months... until it broke and I took it off.

 

first one i had broke after about a week and a half. wasnt paying attention and hit a parking cement block. bought another the next day and have had that on for maybe 5 months ? planning to take it off soon though. gonna buy the real JDM CTR lip for my car. cost $200 though. currently have the 99 ctr lip on my 98. kinda gives my car the aggressive look. kinda.

 

i've had mine for two months...two cracks due to a flat bed tow truck. my front lip is about 1.5-2 inches off the ground

 

man with all these negative posts, does it imply that somewhere along the line people with lips are going to mess it up? I'm getting a oem itr lip and this is scaring me a bit. lol

 

not even a week ...... i hit a coon at about 60 or 70 km/h

u got nothing to worry about. OEM Is made of urathane

 

I've had my mugen knockoff on my '98 Hatch for a few months. I drove down to North Carolina out in Asheville, and going up steep driveways and such I scraped the **** out of it, all the time. Never came off or got scraped up noticably, unless you saw the lip from underneath. Unfortunately, I let my dad drive it, and he always parks his car where the front tires touch the curb. He tried on mine and curb checked the **** out of it, and put a huge crack on it. But its not too noticable.

 

so does that mean ABS= ?? what material do you guys prefer?

 

The Stock ITR Lip is ABS Plastic right? I've had mine on for a few months. It's held up okay, except once I went to far on a parking curb and down some inclines that meet flat road like \_

 

OEM stuff is polyurethane

those are made in taiwan abs, more like a hard plastic like the interior trims for your car.

oem lip are sometime urthrene or abs plastic(which is very nice compare to MIT special)
