Sorry but might be a stupid question but.....how come it would be a "bad" thing to do? I was actually thinking the same thing too, i figured getting the smaller .48 turbine would help spool that huge compressor quicker and i might be able to get a decent power curve on my stock GSR

The compressor is just too much for the small .48 turbine.
If your using a .48 turbine for a fast spool up...use the 50 trim, or 57 trim at most...The turbine will limit the HP output far before the compressor.

Question though, are these results pretty much universal when comparing turbine trims on different turbos like a regular T3 and say a T3/T4e 60trim?

well thats good news, prior to buying it i spent a good 5 hours researching it and i found nothing like this topic. when i read that i damn near had a seizure. i'm going for torque. it will be a daily driven street car.
by the way its has the 76 wheel. i decided to go in the middle, larger wheel with smaller AR

This is the exact same reason why you don't use a T-25 on a ITR motor. why can't this same concept be expanded into a little larger turbo configuraion?

becuase theres no telling what values are on the x axis. how do we know LS motor's do not stop at the point the path's cross, thus making the graphs entirely misleading. people think that LS motor's correlate exactly to that, which is not true. Until we know how the x axis corresponds to LS motors, it is useless.

also, your claim someone made 60 more hp from the housing, i do not buy. if you notice they said they picked up 13hp from switching housings, but lost 19ft/lbs of trq. Seriously, a completely uselses graph.

I'm not pissing on the LS motor for not making more power than what it did.
I am however, giving people a POSSIBLE REASON why the motor made less hp that most peoples expecations at 23psi.
