Default dvd question????

im hooking up just a regular din size dvd player in my car to my screen. my question is how can i make the sound come through the system? i have a sony cdxm610 and there is an audio in. i hooked it up to that and i get nothing...anyone know how? also when i hit source it doesnt show anything besides cd and tuner.

you have to turn the audio thing on.... im not sure how sony works.. but thats how alpine works...but.. if all else fail.. you gonna need a FM modulator...

he's right. Depending on how you connected the DVD audio OUT to the deck autio IN you may need to either enable the output on the dvd (if there is more than just rca...) and also switch source on the deck.

I think the Audio IN you're refering to is actually the RCA lines used to pump the audio from the Sony CD Changer into the radio. These inputs won't be activated unless a changer is plugged in. You should be able to, though, get an adaptor from sony that tricks the unit into thinking a changer or some other AUX device is hooked up and will allow you to feed the DVD's audio in.

This is how most alpine systems have to be done. You buy the KCA-121 (IIRC that's the model #) and it plugs into the Ai-Net port and allows you to feed in an RCA signal instead of the regular CD player/changer, DVD player/changer or XM audio signal.

Double check your manual before hunting for the adaptor. Some sony models I do believe will infact allow you to change the radio's setup so it's used as an AUX input. Thing is, I believe it's only found on the higher end radios, such as the Mobile ES. I could be wrong on this though, so double check.
