I know this is a stupid question, but i know crap about car stereos. Do you need pre outs on your cd player to hook up an amp? Or just to hook up a sub? Im not sure if my cd player has them, and the book that came with it doesnt help me out either. Im not gettin a sub, just goin to power the back speakers, I dunno if that matters or not.

ok thanks. next question: How likely is it that my cd player has pre outs? its a pioneer, probably 3 years old. That probably doesnt help though...

 

and yes its very likely you have them on a three year old pioneer (at least rear outs).
