Default Opinion about 6 puck sprung hub VS organic disk clutch for D series.

WHich is more streetible in stop and go traffic, Are the sprung hub 6 puck cerametalic clutches the chatterboxes I have heard they are. I mean upgraded clutches, stock isn't cutting it with my setup. Are these offbrand ones any good (the 6 puck stage 3 you see on E-bay) I can't afford $300 plus for an act.

THis not a stock engine, its for a ZC using 212mm clutch, satage 2 exospeed cams, header, 2.5 catback, CAI and PM7 ecu. THis clearly is overpowering a stock clutch in the upper rpm ranges. Tires either break traction or the clutch does.

Had the 6 puck (Fibre/Met) sprung set-up on my B16 by Action Clutch
chattery WAAY to catchy for my heavy 1.5 hour crawl through LA traffic and I swear my left leg is buffer than my right.
Go with stock 92-95 Civic Daiken-key is in the break-in
Stage 2 is as far as I would go.

Ok, friend of mine told me he ran a 3 puck on his car (not an import) and broke 3 driveshafts before he got rid of it. He told me to stay away from the cerametalics on the street. I do need more than stock power holding, my clutch is not worn, oil is not leaking but the clutch does slip at high rpm shifts when driving for acceleration. normal driving its fine. and that was before the cams, those are breaking in right now so have no idea how much worse the slipping will be, but certainly its going to be far worse if I get anywhere near what Exospeed claims. So now I know to avoid cerametalics and stay organic. THis is 100% street driven, the chatter matters for me. Thats hard as hell on drivelines.

Now I wonder how are these dual friction Centerforce clutchs are, if they are any good or not. getting the best clutch for under $250 is my goal if its possible.

My problem with ACT is the prices. I'm willing to pay a lot less for something ALMOST as good as ACT. damn shame to pay more for a clutch than a transmission.

My 6 puck sprung clutch from Clutch Specialties is easy on the foot and no chatter from it...

Is that the one you see on ebay all the time? I want streetible but I don't want slippage either when I really get on it. ACT is good stuff but also expensive. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by EL Vap133 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">My 6 puck sprung clutch from Clutch Specialties is easy on the foot and no chatter from it...

I haven't seen it on eBay, but there is a member here (MrHeelToe) that works for this company and he gets them at a good price! It's a great clutch for about $150 less than ACT!

I have a friend that has an Exedy stage 2 clutch in his 93 hatch with an LS and at one time had a 75 shot on it. I've driven it and it holds very well and I beileve he paid around 250 for it. That's probably what I will switch too sometime this winter and I have a ZC also with intake, header, exhaust and a 50 shot of nitrous.

Chattering was one issue I was worried about, another was pressure plate. Have heard both sides. I'll IM the guy you reffered to in a couple minutes. See what he can do for me. car is running and i am in no real big rush, but I want to get the best I can without paying top dollar for the very best. And figured there just might be enough other wondering the same thing. A search didn't answer my questions this morning so I posted.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by EL Vap133 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

I'll look closer into the exedy also, ACT is to expensive for me. I will do a Si/ZC hydrid at the same time when I pull the trans for the clutch, thats a lot of work alone and want to do it once.
