Springs settle when you put the car on the ground.

There is no transition period. If they 'settle' anymore after the initial compression then its called 'sagging'.

run what ever feels best. i personally like a little bit of a stiff ride, so i keep it on 8/8 on the street and kick the rear up to 11 for the track.

I run about 8 all around on the street. On the AutoX course, I run the back all the way in (16) and the front at about 12.

i have no experience with teins, but from the other guys suggestions, "0" sounds like the softest setting, 16 being the stiffest.
