Integra Type R #01-0817 COMPLETELY STRIPPED but Recovered (in Oakland, CA)
A lot of you may recognize my car from this post:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=693704
My car (ITR #01-0817) was stolen on 12/1/2003, and recovered on 12/9/2003 in the stripped condition pictured below. I was at a job interview in Pleasanton, CA at 9:55am in an office building, and the janitor that works at that building saw it leave at 10:00am. Oakland PD called me on 12/9/03 at 1am telling me it was found, and I took those pics later that day. I noticed the fuel tank was opened from inside, and the entire car smelled like gas. The thieves stole personal items, like a book, workout gloves, a gym towel and even a used basketball. They left the garage door opener at least.
This is the second car I've had stolen recently. The other car is the '99 EK that is pictured below. I had this car for 4 years before the Type R. This car had a B18C5, 5-lug conversion, Civic-R front, championship white paint and a lot more. This car was stolen from my old apartment in Davis, CA on 2/23/2003 and recovered on 2/25/2003 in Sacramento, CA in the same stripped condition as my IntegraType R.
Both cars had sensitive alarms, and The Club or AutoLock was engaged. I don't know what to say about having a Civic or Integra in California (or the US) anymore. I got the Type R to save the headaches of building another Civic, but the same result occured. Hopefully this time, I can get a good reimbursement from insurance (I got $11,400 last time, pretty good) since they said they're gonna offer "market value." I had a lot of additional insurance so we'll see what the total comes to.
Both cars had tools and other items inside that could've been printed, but both Oakland and Sacramento PD said it's not worth printing. Unless thieves are caught in the act, it's almost impossible to find them. But they'll get what they deserve eventually.
Well I'm not gonna investigate this much, I don't know if I really care anymore. All I know is all I have from both cars are memories, stories, pictures, souvenirs and knowledge.
And yeah I bet it sounds corny... but if I didn't learn anything from getting these cars jacked, I'd be more pissed. That's about the most important thing from all this.
Ask yourself if it's really worth the stress to keep your car. If it is, find a way to make it hella hard to steal. If it isn't, sell it while u can. Peace.

Is out of hand, I guess best to give up and move on to other vehicles.
Its really not fair in the world that u can't even keep something u cherish.
Good luck.

May a good car fall into your hands that you finally are able to KEEP.

Wow, sorry to hear that Juice. I lived in Davis 2 years ago and always thought it was a nice place, it just goes to show that nowhere is safe for the R's. What are you doing with the rest of it? I ask because although you're a 2 time victim, I think you should hang in there man, don't let the scum of the earth stop you from driving what you really want. Good luck in whatever you choose.

All i can say is that im sorry. It sucks how a person like your self who is obviosly a hard worker and u seem to know your ****, that someone else who doesn't want to work for thier own ****, decides to still yours. It sucks that it had to happen to you twice. good luck with your insuracnce claim, new car, and what ever else u do homie; and may those bastards who stole your car burn in hell
peace!
peace!
If it happened 5 minutes after you parked your car, this was obviously planned and they must have followed you...
God I hate thieves...
I can't believe those bastards didn't even have the decency to not ram the frame after they violated it. I'm speechless...
I wish it didn't have to be like this over here... back in Japan, you could practically leave your keys in your car with the ignition on and no one would steal your car.
Sigh... my condolences....

sorry for the R. **** Thieves. things like these makes me want to get rid of my gsr. but ya. weird thing that they didnt steal the airbags. so you know its not a normal thief looking for parts to sell. someone knew you had a front end ect. they even took the fuel pump. that sucks. good luck on your next car.
