Default 99 si b16a2 into a 96 cx hatchback, wiring issues

I'm dong a swap into a 96 hatch. I used a 99 SI wiring harness to do the swap. Everyting is wired up but I am missing the the third plug that goes into the ECU. I looked in my friend's car (it is also a 96 hatch) and he has the third plug but he has a 99 SI dash which has the third plug on it. This is the plug that comes from the dashboard an plugs into the ECU. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fill the third plug? Do I need to get a SI dash harness or is there any other way that I can solve this problem?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 1993sir &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">uless you want to swap the entire interior harness, put your stock cx harness back on the motor and modify it to fit, and add the vtec wires and clips from the si harness and youll not be able to run the 99-00 civic si ecu. and you will have to put the si iacv plug onto the cx harness matching up the same color wires.</TD></TR></TABLE>

What he's saying is true. There is a difference between 96-98 Civic's (OBD2) and 99-00 Civic's (OBD2B). Although the harness look near the same they won't work in the different year chassis as you can see. You will need to reuse your stock CX harness and then get an OBD2 to OBD2B jumper harness is you plan to use the Si ECU. This is by far the best solution.

i just put a 00 b16a2 swap in my 97 4 door. i used a modified 96-98 ex harness and a 96-98 jdm p73 (type r ecu) and have been driving the car for a week now with not a single check engine light. this is the way to go, plus you dont have to run the second o2 sensor or the cfk sensor.
