coilovers; skunk2 or GC?
I never owned either of them on a prelude, but I did have Skunk 2 coilovers on a Civic I used to have. They seemed to work pretty good, but do yourself a favor and replaced the shocks while your at it. Tokico or Koni would be my choice.
i had skunk 2's with kyb agx shocks on my 89 civic. i liked how they rode. the ride wasn't bad at all, all you have to do is replace the struts too, if you don't you'll get a bad ride.
another thing is i was talking to my mechanic and he said that skunk 2's have a tendancy to have the coils break. mine didn't though and i had them for a year, 1 and a half months of that was in the snow too. but anyways, i liked how mine rode, you just need to dial them in.

SO what makes you think the GC will have a better ride. You're leaving out the all important factor of springs rates. Just because you probably have low lb spring rate with your GC set up doesn't mean that everyone else has low spring rates with GC in fact I have a high spring rate on my prelude and the ride sucks, but it handles.

skunkworks is skunk2's old company name, i have the skunkworks coilover springs, been on for about 3 years, i am replacing them for JIC's but the skunks with my tokico illuminas have been a good setup for me.. i wouldnt run a stock shock with any lowering spring
My car is pretty much setup for a good all around sports car. I daily drive it, take it to the strip(bracket racing), and occassionally hit the road course and autocross.
