Default A turbo GSR owner needs advice!!!

Hello all!

I am about to race at Battle of Imports this weekend at Rt.66/ Joilet, Illinois.

I have a Drag Gen 3 kit, MSD 6AL w/ SS Blaster Coil, 310cc injectors, S/AFC and Tial with a 6lb spring. I also have a ACT Extreme w/ organic street disc. Oh yeah I also have a 12:1 FMU and I will not be able to buy a 8:1 or 10:1 FMU before the event. This is all done on a 1998 GSR and I have stock internals.

Here are my questions:

(1) I was thinking of boosting 10-12+ pounds on 104-118 octane (respectively).
Do you guys think doing 10+ pounds is waaaay to much fuel pressure in the fuel rail?

(2) What RPMs would you do a burnout on some 22x8x15 Mickey Thompson slicks?

(3) What RPMs would you launch on the 22x8x15 M T slicks?

(4) IF miraculouly I were to get another FMU, what ratio do you guys recommend to get with 310cc injectors? Keep in mind I can't really tune anything in the car except for a B&M Command Flo FPR.

(5) At the light when would you launch it? I usually launch on the 3rd yellow light right before the green on drag radials and this produced a .556 - .700 reaction times. So if I am on slicks, will I redlight if I go on the 3rd yellow right before the green light?

This will be my first time racing on slicks so any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks guys/gals!

10-12 psi should be ok, just listen for detonation and check the plugs after your 1st couple of runs.

Do a burn out in 2nd gear. Pull the emergency brake all the way up! Rev the car up to 4000-4500 rpms and slip the clutch, once the car starts rolling out do not hit the breaks , just let the emergency brake go!

Launch the car @ 6000 rpms!

If you change out the FMU, go with an 8:1 FMU disc!

You should be fine if you launch at the 3rd light on the tree even with slicks!

Good luck this weekend!

i started with my slicks at 12psi, then worked my way down....letting some pressure out after each pass...i found for my application 11.5 psi was the best.....got me 1.8 60fts......rev up to about 5500-6000 and dump the clutch....hope like hell you dont break axles.........good luck man....be sure to post your times afterwards

Starting in 2nd gear will spin the slicks for a faster & hotter burnout!

IMO running 12:1 FMU with 310's , you're gonna be running rich.
