MUGEN shift knob?
I hate my current shift know, all big, crappy, and weird. (stock) anyways the Mugen shift **** looks nice, is it worth 80 bucks? I want a QUALITY ****. Not one of those cheap knock-offs.
It all depends on personal preference. If you think you can afford to spend $80 on just a shift ****, then by all means do. It's all for looks for the most part. I've got a Razo (carbon fiber/polished) on mine and it seems to be doing just fine. I have a buddy who got a cheaper ($20) shift **** and he's had problems of getting the **** to stay on the shifter...such as it spins around freely.
i personally do not like the mugen **** reminds me of a sex toy or something with those ridges in it. i drove my friends teg with it and i didnt really care for the feel. its to tall. but this is just my opinion.
Check out this thread to see the ****:

I got a yellow, black, and chrome shift **** from Pep Boys for $20. At first, I just tightened the allen screws into the shaft, it stayed tight but it rattled.
I went to take it off and ended up carving groves into my shifter because I wasn't aware how well locktite worked (it was my first time).
When I tried to put it on a second time, it wouldn't stay tight (rattle like all hell, but wouldn't spin, oddly, pretty ricey if you ask me) the rattle not the ****.
So I just went to the hardware store and bought two foot long pieces of rubber pipping (I got two because I just eyed the diameter and wasn't sure), and, about a month latter, finally decided to screw the piping onto the shifter and then tighten the allen screws into the piping.
This has so far turned out to work great. The shifter is as firm as the stock one, even with the rubber tubing. I figure that even if it does work it self loose, the rubber will stop the rattling. If it does get loose again, I am just going to buy a short shifter and a Type R titanium **** like the ones on e-bay for $30. Hope this helps, although, you sound like you want to do it the right and smart way with no ricey mods. Whatever floats your boat.
By the way, the angle of the **** is totally adjustable, it is really pretty cool, and I thik that it looks good.
