Toda Cam Gear Bolt Info Needed
I have a set of first gen Toda Cam gears. I have adjusted them several times while tuning. They come with an Allen head Bolt much like a skunk2 camber arm. Unfortunately after some adjustments the allen head begins to stretch enough it concerns me that i am going to strip out the head.
To avoid any issues I wanted to replace all of the allen bolts with regular hex head bolts. Does anyone know the diameter and thread pitch for these? Can someone recommend a type of material they should be made of to withstand being tightened down a lot?
Can someone recommend the torque spec they should be tightend to?
I plan to use a non permanent Loctite as well but I need the bolts first.
I went to the source but they don't know the bolt specs they just sell new bolts.

as per toda's recomendations, 9-11 lb/ft tq is sufficient. i just split the difference and torqued mine to 10lbs. the thread pitch is 6mm x1mm if i am not mistaken.
I replaced mine with some 10mm bolts that were in the shop when I had a few stripped nuts, TODA sent me some new ones, but they didn't make it through USPS before they broke out of the envelope that they were in. I have't had a problem since I changed over to the 10mm bolts.

I bought them used but don't mind paying for them. I woudl call Jack at P1 in a heartbeat for anything Toda related I need but I really want to change them out since I suspect this woudl happen again.
Allen bolts are not one of my favorite designs.

You ain't lying... But if you want to buy some, they were $1.00 a piece when I called Toda. Then again, Jack prolly can get them in bulk for free.

Yeah. 6x10.
To be honest I like the allen head bolt style a little better than hex head. The gen II come with cheap hex bolts and are extremely sensitive to torque. They specify 7 ft-lbs. I torqued one of mine to 10ft-lbs and it sheared off. I suggest a grade 8 (black) or AN hex head.
