HELP!! Wanting to know if anyone else has this happen
We own an 03 S2000. And every time I fill it with gas to full I will drive only 25 miles before 3 or 4 of the gas bars are gone. I get about 270 on a full tank or so. Is that about right? Are the bars suppose to go away that quickly?
Mine don't disappear as quickly, but I also get around 270-300 miles depending on my driving sTyL3z, y0.
My bars disappear fast near the middle. But the ends disappear VERY slow. I can drive like 100 miles on the last 3 bars.
The middle bars suck, I get like 20 miles, and 5 of them are gone!
I think gas gauges are slightly different on every car. My Integra was slightly different than other Integra's I've seen as well. Probably nothing to worry about at all.

Damn. I don't get much more than around 220 on a tank or maybe 250 if I'm doing only highway driving. And I rarely VTEC.
Side not, I have the same problem with the first few lines disappearing very quickly, but it seems to even out across the tank.

I have this problem, it actually doesn't get to full, it shows up with three bars missing, then I go 75-100 and it starts to go very quickly. This didn't happen until I put on oiled filter in my car, which Honda says is the problem, but if the car is stock, I don't know what to tell you. BTW, I get 250 miles per tank if I'm lucky and I rarely VTEC because my exhaust is so loud I do anything to keep attention away from me when driving.

I did get it repainted. It was originally Berlina Black. I don't know how to post an image on here, but you can check it out at http://www.precisionimport.net and look under Project Car. Or you can go to http://s2kplussi.onlineshowoff.com

I've noticed that I'll drive for a while, like say 20 to 30 minutes, and then park and idle. Before parking it'll show say, 3/4 full, then after about a minute idling, it's down to 1/2! Almost like the gas guage didn't register until it had idled for a minute. I also average around 270 mpg, although I'd say I get more like 220 to 270 mpg because I like going from 0 to 60 too fast.
Do you also notice that if you fill your gas up while the car is on, only a few bars will show up. It's not until you shut off the car and turn it back on, or drive it for a LONG time does the bars actually fill up to the point where you put gas in.
If you fill up when your car is off, then turn it back on, the bars will be full.
Weird.

Hrm, maybe it's b/c you're suppose to fuel up with the car turned off?
The fuel gauge on the car is pretty inaccurate as you all have seen. I've left a track event to get home when the car had 4 bars on it, while driving a mile later, all bars are gone and the car dies. This has happened 3 times, now I carry a spare 2 gallon reserve tank with me at track events.
