Default ITR/ITB Engine Bay Shots

Just got a sweet digital camera for Christmas. I know, I know. A little too early, but who cares, I'm not a kid anymore. I don't have to wait till the 25th.

Santa brought me a new Canon EOS SLR Digital Rebel. I've had it for two days now and this thing is just awesome. Features after features. I'm not even done with the instruction manual yet.

For informational purposes, these were shot with a combination of ISOs ranging from 200 to 400. I pretty much gave priority to aperature and shutter speed. The reasoning behind this is that a higher ISO will make the CCD more sensitive, but it also invites dust/speckle to the image along with a very grainy output.

The aperature was f/4.5. I pretty much set it to the lowest number because I was shooting under a tiny 60watt bulb. I did whatever I could to allow more light in through the lens.

Shutter speed was a combination of 4 to 8 seconds depending on angle and light conditions. This is what I played with the most. I had a tripod so I could experiment with longer shutter speeds. The best was the 8 second one. It put me right where I wanted to be in exposure, about -1/2 compensation.

Whitebalance was set to tungusten. This gave the images a somewhat amber glowing look. It captured the real color of the light.

Well enough talk, let's go to the pics. For your viewing pleasure I resized it.

Comments and suggestions are highly welcomed.

Thanks for looking.

Len

I paid $899 for mine with a 10% off at Best Buy. Retail is around $999. But I've seen online merchants have them for way less. I like the financing plan Best Buy offers to its customers.

Here's a link for more info.

I was thinking about that exact camera actually.

Is it reasonable to carry around?

I'm looking for a camera, but think a SLR is a little too large for me to carry around.

Sweet pictures .

Pics are great, from what I can see, but that car must be pretty slow with all that cutting and welding on it.

The car is currently running under a temporary map. The EMS is reading off of the MAP Sensor. If you look closely in the first picture, there is a vacuum log with the MAP Sensor sitting on top of it.

it was my undestanding that above 40% throttle the map sensor sees atmospheric (normally seen at WOT). did you encounter this problem? which ems are you running? did you tune yourself?

When driving around town and feathering the gas and slowly depressing it, the car runs fine. If you give it too much throttle input too fast however, the engine bogs for a few seconds and then picks up the revs. To me, it seems as if there is a lag between the time you depress the gas pedal fully and the MAP sensor actually seeing any variations in pressure. There are alot of factors that is involved also with the problem I'm having. Of course all of this will be outdated once we change over to the new TPS dependent map. All of the tuning has been done at P1 Automotive.
