Default questions about shifting

Hey all,

I was wondering if you guys encountered this...

Everytime I shift from 2nd to 3rd in my GSR, it clicks into 3rd gear, it's hard to explain but it does not shift smoothly as before. Has this happened to anyone else?

How many miles since you changed your tranny fluid?

Hey Guys,

Thanks for your help. Well the car is pretty new...less than 5,000 miles

But I took it to the dealer today and he test drove it with me and said everything
was fine. He says it is normal for it to click..

Thanks

A little CLICK is okay it is more than likely just the notchiness, a grind though is not.

It isnt that bad if it grinds going into 3rd, just get used to it or turn up your stereo so you dont notice it as much.

This may be a dumb question, but how do you know if you're grinding the gears...

This is my first manual car.

You will hear it, and feel it, and girls on the street will notice you too It is literally a grind. When it happens you will know.

Sometimes I encounter notchiness like you did...make sure you change your tranny fluid after about 40-45000 miles I believe. Use Honda MTF or maybe even Redline.

when you are grinding your gears, people like me will be standing off to the side cheering you on, and yelling "grind 'em till you find 'em"
