well last week i sold my integra and i was going to wait until FEB. to buy my s2000 buy tuesday i was looking on the Auto Trader and found exactly what i was looking for. A black on red 2000 for 17000 so i called the owner who lives in florida he told me the car was in perfect condition he was selling it because he needed the space in his garage... so i flew down on thursday paid cash and drove two days streight and just got home last night im soooo in love with the car its in perfect condition not a single ding in the whole car its crappy weather at home so ill get pics as soon as i can but i cant wait to get started on this car...
Wow, congrats on the car. It's always sketchy to buy a car so far from you, but it's great that you found no problems with it.
Just watch out for that RWD, it's a whole different world.
Too bad I just got my S2K stolen on Wednesday.

The clutch itself is fine, it's the pressure plate that is weak. Correct? The diff. reportedly doesn't hang too well with high rpm launches however I don't do that in this car. I'm too scared.
Don't mis-shift and downshift from 5 to 2.

Not gonna question your authority on the s2k's, just wanted to say my bro consistantly launches at 7000-7500 with Victoracers. I keep telling him he'll break the diff tho. When I owned it I only launched at 6500 on street tires (and very rarely at that). So far he's proven me wrong though, it's held up very well.

There are ways to launch the car where you'll minimize the damage and it's through pre-loading the powertrain. I suspect that is what you and your brother did rather than sidestepping the clutch. I'd say the only think taking heat right now would be the clutch in your system and bearings of the diff.

He;s just straight up dumping the clutch, no easing into it at all. It is enough to make the victoracers break traction though. Could that be helping, that they're breaking a little traction? Or is he just getting lucky so far ya think?
