Default wheel hop prevention ideas?

So, if you had a 1994 accord and had alot of wheel hop off the launch, what would you do to fix it....?

I was looking into this company called jimfab that makes cross members, but i didnt see any set ups available for my car....

Sounds like worn shocks to me if you are running stock suspension. If you have lowered springs/stiffer spirings and are running stock shocks they may not provide enough damping forces to prevent the hop you are getting.

some better shocks and a big beefy sway bar up front takes care of wheel hop for starters

What tires are you using right now? If a person uses tires with stiff sidewalls, they may experience wheel hop. My friend with azenis has wheel hop and he didn't have it before with his stock tires.

This probably doesn't help, but I had lots of "wheel hop" before I replaced my clutch. I.e. I had clutch chatter really badly. You're sure it's not the clutch?

Otherwise, I hear that stiffer motor mounts or inserts can reduce wheel hop.

also if you are running a low profile tire that contributes to wheel hop, you should be drag racing on 15s.

Well, this weekend when I ran at the track, I was using Azenis.... and they were pretty bald.... but I do experience almost the same when I use the stock tires.

And it shouldn't be the clutch. I have an ACT Full face, with a heavy duty pressure plate. I had it installed the same time as my swap about 5 months ago....

I know that the Azenis probably contributed to the wheel hop, but I'm thinking as far as further prevention beyond tires....

I have Tokico Illuminas, race springs, front motor mount insert. I don't notice any wheelhop whatsoever. Those items will work for you. BTW: I squeel my tires on the 1-2 shift nicely with no hop.

i would get the motor mouont iinserts it sounds like you goto weak mounts.
and teh reason jimfab doesnt make radis rods for your car is you have them stock.

also lower your tire pressure a LOT
i am able to launch and get great 60 ft times with 215/40/17 tires i jsut have to run at like 16-19 psi.

how would a front swaybar prevent wheel hop when he's launching? it's not like he's turning anywhere...

probably because it's not likely that both tires will hop up at the same time, so when one hops, the other one will be down and the stiffer bar will sort of hold it down some.

Oh yeah and try lowering the pressure alot, I found for them azenis they like about 15-20psi, start off at 20psi and lower from there, but don't go under 15, thats pushing it on the azenis cuz the sidewalls are stiff so they don't fold as well, the tread surface starts to cup.
