i just got a AEM Cold Air from a friend but he lives like 2 hours away lol he was just down here so he gave it to me but I was wondering if anyone can help with the install there aren't any intructions I have the D16Y8 so my air flow sensor is on the throttle body but on the intake there are like 3 lines that can go in and 3 lines that is in my current intake box... he told me im suppose to just leave one of them hanging out? anyone know what he'z talking about... kinna new at this heh

just...plug up any holes on the intake if theres any left over from the install...

 

i've never done it before like i said new at it... friend can do it ina second which he is gonna do but im just curious myself... from the stuff on the current intake derz exactly 3 and ders 3 holes on the intake but he said u don't plug one of them in just leave it hanging..... datz why i was like ummmm ok?

 

 

An intake is just a pipe that goes where another pipe was.

 

it maybe a another pipe where a pipe used to be!!

but removing the resonator can be ***** of a job if ya don't know what your doing!!!

a short ram is a **** job but a CAI involves removing plastic, or in my homemade effort chopping up plastic!!

you dont have to connect the breather that goes from the valve cover.

it should seriously take 5-7 minutes to install an AEM intake. Not hard at all

 

just remove the airbox *resonator* where the ur current airfilter sits..at the bottome of the airbox are a few screws ..take them out and that s where the extra holes will be..just let them be

unhook the hose to the air box..there ll be a breather hose leading the valve cover ..take that off too

just take the intake AEM pipe and attach it to where the OEM tubing was and attach with a *O* ring..then take the hose from the falve cover and attach it to intake pipe..that s about the hardest part if there is such a thing about putting a new intake on

if its a car specific there ll be mounts that attach to the oem screw s already on the car..sometime s ull need a new screw if u want to make it look a little prettier

if its a CAI..ull then attach the lower arm..but first id put the filter on, slide it behind the front bumper cover and attach it to the upper arm with the O rings and pipe attachments *whatever u call those things*
