My car's check engine light is on after installed VAFC II last night. I'm sure the wiring is correct(Checked for mroe than 3 times); however, there's no more VTec kick in singal from ECU anymore, which mean if I don't set the VAFC Vtec kick in point, the car won't have Vtec kick in.

I suspect the connection of my original vtec wire to ECU is lost. If so, would that make the check engine light on? Are there any other reasons that would block the ECu Vtec kick in singal.

 

I would connect back all the major wires except the ones that are just spliced and reread the wiring diagrams. is the VAFC II approved for the 94-97 Accord? i know the original VAFC wasn't and many people including me had problems.

 

Mine is an Accord with H22A engine and ECU. So, I don't think it's the problem of Accord.

 

One more thing I just find out today, the rev Limited drop down to 6480rpm instead of the stock 7000rpm.

Whay year and model? What code does it have stored?

 

Mine is H22A Engine with OBD1 ECU, the check engine light code is two long and 1 short.

Code 21. Have you checked the VTEC solenoid and it's wire?

 

I jsut found that the Vtec wire is lost from the harness..and I don't know how to maybe it re-connect back.. Is honda possible to fix it?

 

BTW, what does code 21 means?

A problem with the VTEC solenoid or wiring. So you found your problem, huh?

 

And I brought my car to Honda today, they help me to put the lossing Vtec wire back to the ECU. They said the check engine light goes off right after they did that; however, when they go test drive the car the engine light comes on again.

Anyways, still no Vtec from the stock ECU

What code does it have stored now?

 

honda stay it's still the vtec code.
