This morning, while I was driving to school, I kinda fudged a 1st to 2nd shift. After I shifted to second, my jacket sleeve caught onto the shifter and popped it somewhere between neutral and 2nd. At that moment my foot let off the clutch unknowingly. Of course this resulted in some unpleasant sounds and possibly damage. I quickly pushed in the clutch and made sure 2nd was in after that. I haven't noticed anything different, and I probably shouldn't I beleive? Did I hurt my R keeping in mind this was the only time something like this has happend? What a freak occurence.

damage = that of a missed shift

if you're really worried, get some magnetic drain plugs for your tranny and oil. Tranny one might pick up some of the stuff you grinded off...

I did something similar a while back. No biggie, but definitely not something you want to repeat. Car should be fine.
