Default remove trim pieces from wheel-well lips??

BTW....not for looks, for function/protection

Should i remove the trim strips around the wheel wells on the crx?? They look problematic for causing rust... because moisture/**** gets up in there, and becomes trap, and never really gets out....

What do you guys say??

because they are 'fugly' or because it makes problems for the car?

ditch them, dirt and moisture sit inside the rubber and then you get rusty parts.

Honda placed them there because its the #1 place road debris hits when it flies off your wheel.. you might notice a few marks in the paint later.

That was my main concern, because chips in the fender well will also cause rust

You should worry about cleaning up your car first, it looks nasty under there.

when i bought my car they were on, but were falling off, so i took em off, and voila, rust was already there! too late for me. but im getting aftermarket fenders ($50CAD a pop) and itll all be good! take em off anyoen the second you can.

there are pros and cons to each....

with trim in....
pros- protect from rocks/chips in paint..etc.
cons- traps dirt and salt and causes rust

with trim off....
pros...no dirt to trap and less chance for rust
cons...no protection from rocks so youre paint might get chipped

so....which one is better??
