Default VAFC HACK Problems Please Help ASAP Search in archived no good 411 found

Alright guys here's my setup:

96 JDM ITR Motor Stock c/r 11:1
Fmax Turbo Kit Boostin on 4.35 psi!
AEM FPR Set at 55 psi idle and 62 WOT
440cc Saturated injectors From Camp1320.com
NGK V-Power spark plugs from Camp1320.com
and VAFC Hack.
Distributor Timing Retarded all the way down to 0 Degrees

No MIL or check engine light going on either

I don't know exactly what is wrong but it seems like i am running really lean, i followed all the steps as the drop shop but instead of the values that liam is running mine are as follows:

1-2k -35
3-4k -30
5-6k - 20
6-7k - 10
8-9k - 0

These Setting are for Narrow and Wide

While at 3k rpm in any gears my egt guage is at 12-1400 degrees F
My A/F guage says its running rich but then there are some instances where at wot the a/f gauge drops to lean all the way

At idle my egt guage is at 800-10000 degrees

When I drive my car it bogs and struggles to even go into power, I can;t even get passed 55mph without teh egt temp guage reaching 1400 in 5th gear at 3500 rpm

I ordered my Hondata S100B but i won;t get it until monday or tuesday of next week, and I have found out form ben then its pretty useless for me anyhow since I need to get it tuned or else its pointless. My tuning session won;t be till friday of next week with "St00pid"

So the vafc hack for me is a temporary band aid setup please help configure this correctly

Thanks

man u need to set the VAFC to basically -35 accross the board. the values u have for the higher rpms are not right.

dude are you using the missing link or somthing? WTF is up with your bullshit values? Don't you understand that if the **** is set to 0 correction then no only are you NOT hiding boost from the ecu, but at the same time you are not trimming back the injectors?

I think your egts are high because you timing is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to retarded, but what do I know?

Anyway, don't touch that poor car of yours until jason gets around to it - it seems like your tuning skills are lacking to say the least.

ok, the reason why i retarded timing to 0 is because I was told to do so by a friend to reduce the risk of blowing my motor. due to my high compression.

I changed the afc hack to -35 all across the board and now it doesn;t go past 1400 degree.

The reason why I am attempted to tune the car is because of the readings I am getting.

I already purchased a hondata s100b, but since its new there are no base maps at alla nd i can;t really use it. So I am awaiing to meet up with Jason so he can put one on there.

any other suggestions? my idle is really rougha nd shitty tho

yeah set the 1000rpm low fuel / cam setting to -34, it'll help the idle. Do the rest to -36 it should run better. Those are my current settings. Also do crossover at 70/71%.

i totally agree. If you advance the timing you will hear detination. The same will also occur when you retard the timing all the way back. Both retarding and advancing timing to eather extreme is not very good. you could still blow your motor.

To help pinpoint your problem I would set your timing back to stock or retard about 2 deg from base, correct your fuel trims to between -35% to -40% across the board and set your fuel pressure to stock. Try driving normally and see if it will go into boost. You should be OK as you are only boosting ~4psi and as long as you don't rev it up too high you should be fairly safe. Keep an eye on the EGT, if your EGT is still sky high when idling or cruising then you have a problem.

I wouldn't rely on that POS a/f gauge (is it Autometer?) as it doesn't REALLY tell you HOW rich or lean you are.

If you have the money and want to tune it yourself go ahead and buy a wideband! worth the money trust me! I live out in the country so theres not really a lot of places close to where i live to dyno tune so i do a LOT of street tuning. Just a suggestion!

omg DON'T BOOST ! man why would you risk your R motor for a week of boosting... Disconect your charge pipes and drive around like that until you can get your hondata tuned. Oh ya, and turn your distributer back to where it was. Your car will be fine (super rich) in the mean time as long as your not boosting. (current settings)
