EGT probe placement - I think there is confusion
I have read all the posts about EGT probe placement. #3 Cylinder runs the hottest, however I think some people are confusing that with #3 runner counting left to right. I have seen several pics of probes mounted in the 3rd runner from left which puts it on the #2 cylinder. If I'm wrong please correct me.

its got warm water flowing around it , heated from cylinders 1 and 2 (water is flowing right to left)
and it also has #4 next to it.
#4 has the warmest water around it but it has more surface area exposed to water, so its actually cooler.
therefore 3 is wamest.
but the point is moot if your injectors flow unevenly. the EGT sensor will read higher in the runner that is associated with the injector with the lowest flow rate (clogged etc) cause that cylinder will be leaner.
