B16 Valvespring ?????'s

Hey guys, i just have a quick question: I just pulled the head off my friends B16 and was taking the valves out when i noticed that it only has single valvesprings. Isnt there supposed to be dual springs on the intake side? Its a 1st gen JDM B16, so is this a motor from an auto??

yeah i think the auto b16's had crap intake cams thus not needing dual valve springs.

Yup, that's a AUTO head. Just get some dual springs and call it a day.

I bought my JDM B16 and it only had single valve springs, and it is not auto.

no it just had a manual tranny on it.

Usually, and I stress "USUALLY", the B16's that cam with single valve springs were originally Automatic tranny equipped. If you got one with single valve springs, and a manual tranny, it was probably swapped.
