Default measuring preasure in cilinder help

90measuring the presion in the cilinder. what's up guys. i have the measure the presion of the cilinders on my 90 accord ex but don't knkow how. how much should it read when i put that **** in the place of valves. and what preasure mesurment determines that it has the valve seals or the piston rings or both. i read the manual but didn't see it there. held i don't how to do it. do i keep the engine running while i see the gogle measuring or i just have to start the engine and shut it donw . **** helppppppppp

I assume you are measureing the compression in the cyls. just pull the spark plugs out of all 4 cyls. Then, one cyl at a time, screw the adaptor into the head, and crank the car over 4 - 5 times. read what the gauge says then. maybe somebody else can give you a good range for the numbers to be in, because I'm not sure what it should be on a 90, but it's more important for all 4 cyls to have readings pretty close to each other.

if you have one that is low, you can pour a teaspooon of oil into the cyl. if the compression goes up, then you know the rings are bad. otherwise it's a leaking valve

dont forget to have you gas panel down all the way when you crank the motor, fuel pump fuse need to be taken out.

one more note. if you do one cylinder 6cranks, make sure you have all cylinder with 6cranks of compression. not 7crank ofn cylinder number 1, 6on two,etc

i personally perfer at least 6 cranks, do each cylinder at least 2twices.
