Default Wiring up vtec w/p28 and obd 1 gsr

I have a 96 ls teg which is getting a 97 gsr motor. Im going to be using a skunk2 p28. I have a wrecked obd1 teg that I could take the harness out of ( the harness that actually plugs into the ecu from the harness on the motor. Would I be able to use that obd1 harness? And also, what about the vtec wiring?

Harness would work, but you still need to wire it from the ECU to the strut tower where the wiring harness also connects to. There's a few how to's out there and the pinouts.

Correct. Not to mention that you will only need to run 1 wire for the VTEC solenoid and 2 for the VTEC pressure switch. Since you are using a P28 you will lose the IAB feature, hopefully you are using a single runner manifold like a Skunk2. You also lose the knock sensor function. That will eliminate having to wire up those 2 sensors.

Good call, also IF you are NOT going to use a sinlge runner intake, and you want to use the p28 remove the secondaries at least in the mani, otherwise use the p72 or get a p13 and wire up the IAB's, its not that hard!

I am going to be using a jg manifold. Can I use the harness that goes from the ecu to the strut tower out of my old obd1 integra? It was an ls so I'll still have to run the wires for vtec. Also, what harnesses can I take out of the obd2 harness since I am running it obd1(knock sensor, iab)?
