Default my 400hp project inside, words of advice welcomed/needed

well i have decided to start my turbo build, after months of debating on h22 or b18/b20 i decided to go b series. i already have a all motor h22 hybrid so i figured a boosted b series would be good change pace.

i have a b18b block, i plan on sending it off to AEBS and having it sleeved. i plan on going .20 over w/ 10.1 comp pistons.

-so what are u recmonendations when it comes to forged pistons.

i plan on going with eagle rods *i am only shooting for 400 at the wheels*. then having the bottom end balanced.

my next decision is if i should go w/ a VTEC head (most likely it will be a ITR head)or go with ported LS head?

-again ur opinions on which head to go with will be greatly appreciated.

lastly i am debating turbo manifolds and turbos, i was thinking of going with a SFP manifold, and matching it up with a 60-1.

-so what do u think about that.

yes i am aware that there are many more components to complete my projetct, and i already have them in hand or in mind.

lets just say hondata s200, injectors, tial wastegate and blow off valve, some Greddy gadgets are all on the list.

so what do u think?

Off the top of my head I would recommend:

8x3x24" core intercooler
Lovefab manifold
precision sc61 turbo (.63 a/r trim)
CP pistons
720cc injectors (less will cut it, but its better to have too much then too little)

And that is all I am going to share with you until you do some more homework. Do a search on the flow rates of the LS vs GSR vs ITR heads... you'll find out a lot when it comes to their flow rates/capabilities.

appreciated, i will look into the Lovefab manifold. off i go to look at some flow charts, and compresor maps.

any body else want to chime in

I would recommend a T3/60-1 from Innovative Turbo and any header will do for a 400hp goal.

For pistons, I would recommend the JE's. They have a proven record. The eaglel rods will work fine to that power level as well. I would definitely go with the vtec head too, if possible. Either head will work for the hp goals you have set.

Good luck with your project!

Pistons I recommend Endyn more expensive but you get what you pay for. Head go the b16a more of them cheaper and it's the same cast as an ITR head. Vtec will help. Turbo sc61 would get a great choice. 10.1:1 is high for a turbo setup. 9.0:1 would be a safer bet and you can still make great power. Also get the AEBS head studs you'll thank me for it.

thanks for all the help. but i am torn between the 60-1 and sc61. i have seen proven #s first hand with the 60-1, but if the sc61 is "better" i will go with that.

off i go to reasearch 60-1 vs sc61. wish me luck.

I've seen huge numbers with a 60-1. In fact a friend of mine is making over 600whp with one. However that being said even he recommends the sc61. Just some food for thought.
