Default LHT S tube vs stock JRSC S tube?

has anyone tested them back to back?

I'm planning on getting their intercooler in the next month or so, and I'd like to run a bigger throttle body (I have a B18B)

my stuff so far is
B18BLS
JRSC Kit
I'm going to upgrade the supercharger pully and also run the CRV crank pulley so I think I'll be at 11lbs
I have RC 440's
walboro 255lbh fuelpump
kamakize header
custom B pipe
mugen thermostat
mugen fanswitch
mugen radiator cap
mugen twinloop

just wondering if the S tube would make a huge difference with my mods so far

oh I'll also be running oBD1 and hondata

thanks

Nick

I believe John does the s-tube porting for free with the IC purchase if you send it to him? Dont quote me on that though, dont want to start rumors.

Larry @ Endyn used to frequently say the s-tube was a major restriction, and could be improved significantly. I believe John did some tests to see if that was true...try dropping him an email. I havent experienced it firsthand, so I dont know either way. Just FYI, thats all.

Hi,

I have an LHT setup. My car made 20 more WHP when I got the setup back on before I had installed the water plumbing. So, the porting of the manifold and housing made 20 hp. Pretty good!

sounds good, did LHT perform the S mod for free

I am going to send mine away to him soon, and i'm not going to bolt on the JRSC before I send it away, I know I won't have a before and after dyno, but I can't afford to do and undo it all

if the s tube is included in the intercooler modification along with the pump option

I'm getting it for sure...otherwise I might send mine to endyn

one way or another ti's getting intercooled

He did do it for free.

I don't think his mods are quite as extensive as endyns (they cut it in half and reweld it).

Yes do the "S" tube porting for no charge when we sell the intercooler mod. There is no way to port it much more than we do , It gets very thin in places already.
We have since built our own "S" tube which has been very sucessful, however costs a lot to build.
We not only port match the manifold but taper the runners into the plenum too. You can see this on our site.

For the new year:
We will try to bring the price of the intercooler down, also we have been designing some cool stuff to enhance the supercharger even more, along with a freon intercooler kit.
Thanks to everyone that posted.

Jag - do you have a B18B or a B18C?

Blackthorn - do you have dyno Numbers on your current setup?

CRVRX - What is the charge to only port the S Tube? Do you have dyno graphs of the S Tube porting results?

I run water injection which keeps the intake temps way down - I need to advance the timing a bit to try to get a few HP out of the injection setup. No engine management, just the old school FMU and a VAFC (and BTC and MAP mod).

Keep us posted on how 11psi goes.
