Default Best way to install Mugen Exhaust

Any tips on installing it? Its arriving tomorrow.
I have to make do with what I have. I don't have enough room to work in my single car garage so I have to work out on my driveway which is slightly sloped downward. I have a set of ramps and 2 jack stands. I was thinking of driving front end up the ramps and then jack up the rear and set it on jackstands. The front will be at the bottom of the driveway.

The other option was to drive the rear end up the ramps and put the front on jack stands with the rear at the bottom of the driveway. (not sure if the if the front end will hit the driveway, not to mention it would be a little scarey driving up the ramps).

Which would give me the most room and be the most stable?

Most likely the ramps wont allow you clearance to the cat, at least not enough room to get a big fuggin hammer on those bolts I would consider using the street, put the front on ramps and the back on stands. I don't like using stands on anything over a very slight slope... but that's just me.

Oh yeah, spray some rust penetrating lube on the bolts between the b-pipe and cat tonight if possible, it'll allow them to come off much easier.

As for the best way to install it, I'd suggest using bolts.

Good suggestion . If I remember correctly, the exhaust comes with all of the hardware and gaskets that you need, so you should be set once the box arrives. Have fun!

Yeah, I would put the front on the ramp and the rear with the stands. Having power tools will really help. Those bolft on the stock pipes are pretty tight. Spray them with Lube like Dave said. The actuall installation of the MUGEN Exhaust is pretty easy (Plug-N-Play). Just be carefull with the slope in your driveway.

Thanks guys.. I was thinking option #1 also.. I'll be sure to do a shake test after I set the back on jack stands before I get under the car .

I knew I was forgetting something! The penetrating spray. I'll pick some up after work tomorrow. When I installed my header, I had to use a box wrench and hammer the bolts loose from the cat. The stock manifold bolts were pretty stuck as well. Hmmm.. Methinks an impact wrench would help in this situation too? I hope I don't get as frantic as D and take an axe to my bolts. Well, I don't own an axe, but I do own a hacksaw

Yeap, I think that is normal with MUGEN, the resonator is really big. I think the only thing you can do it get shorter exhaust mounts, so it brings it closer up.

Anyone else on here have trouble getting the exhaust through and had to remove the sway bar? Man, if I have to remove the sway bar, I should have ordered the rear Mugen sway bar as well
I'm planning to buy the front + rear sway bar and the front + rear strut bars in one shot when I have the money.. HOPEFULLY that will be my last set of mods because this Mugen stuff is getting expensive!

I didn't have problems getting it through. Take the passenger rear tire out it will make it easier to get it through and bolt it up. EP do you also have the MUGEN suspension in car that might be the reason you could get it through.
