Default painting valve cover

hey guys. i took off my valve cover tonight and tomorrow i'm bringing it to my friends shop to paint it. but my question is for those of you who already done this before which is the best way to cover up the DOHC VTEC and HONDA MOTOR CO. words so they don't get sprayed?
TIA

Heres mine that I did for fun. (It was a spare valve cover)
I just painted the whole thing, then when it was dry I went over the letters with a sanding bit on an air gun.

i'm not really sure, it was just some sanding wheel thing i had at work. i usually use it to remove stuck on gaskets.

Vasilene or Chapstick will do the trick to cover up the letters. ^_~

Masking tape, then cut around the letters with a exacto knife (razor blade)
But chapstick sounds a lot faster

Chapstick is alot faster but you don't get the "hard lines" that you do with tape. Do it once and do it right. Take your time.

I sanded the the tops of the letters down perfectly flat with 200 grit on a sanding block before i painted it. painted the whole thing, taped around the letters and block sanded the paint off of them. washed it and clear coated it. the definition is very sharp

Just apply the vaseline with a fine q-tip or something. Gets the letters perfectly and peels right off.

The easiest way to do it is to paint your valve cover, then sand the "HONDA" letters and polish.

Heres what you do, clean that piece with some hot water and just a little bit of soap. The less fufu soap the better. Then take a Wax and grease remover and scrub it with that. Then sand with a red scotch brite (easier to get in all the curves and stuff. Then Hit it with etch primer in a aerosol. Then what ever you want after that for color. If it gets over 250 degrees farenhiet then boom you dont have a valve cover no more. Just messing around, Most paints can only take about that hot before they chalk yellow or burn off. I personally like Dupli-Colors Metal Cast Line for small easy projects like that. Good Luck.
