Default Funny problem with fuel tank after installing walbro 255lph fuel pump

So i installed walbro 255lph fuel pump a week ago and since then my fuel tank only works on half its capacity, It used to be 34litres total, now car is running out of petrol with having half a tank of fuel( when i refil from almost empty tank it takes of 16-17 litres for it to be full) My fuel gauge also works that way - when my needle is showing half a tank - its actually empty, and i mean empty - tank is dry, but when i refil it can only take 17 litres of petrol?. Did anyone ever run across this weird problem ? I did notice that walbro fuel filter was twice as small compared to my original filter, can this be the cause of it, or it shouldnt matter?

I installed the 190lph pump and the pickup was just as big as the stock one. I never had problems with it even when it was 80% empty and on an incline. I would try and install it again.

When me and my friend installed a walbro in his impreza the bobber that tells the gauge cluster how much fuel is in the tank got snagged on something while putting the pump back in. Something like that could have happened to your tank which would cause the faulty readings on the gauge. I dont know why the tank will fill up half way though....

Use your stock sock/ filter pickup and not the one they give you in the walbro kit....if it is the same as mine the walbro filter was much smaller and would not pick fuel up cuz it was above the fuel level and I had half a tank of gas....still wouldn't start.....removed pump, swithed sock/filter, worked fine....

and make sure the sock is pointing the right way. I also had to turn the pump around before it would be in the stock position...
