rapid clicking noise usually means a bad/dead battery

the thing is though that everything else works in accessory position. my interior and instrument lights are all lit. i can hear my cd changer working and i'm able to flip up and down my monitor. i highly doubt that it's the batter cuz i can hear the clicking noise coming from under the hood. it's pretty loud. anybody have any ideas? thanks

also, anyone know why the speedo needle is jumping?

Bump because I have the same problem. Clicking and speedo jumping sometimes. It did this, it finally started once, now I can't get it to start again.

turns out my battery was bad cuz it had beed drained and recharged so many times. i guess eventually it stops putting out enough voltage to turn the starter. try jumping the batter, and if that works then your battery is bad so get a new battery. if that doesn't work, you may have a bad starter. good luck

I believe the clicking noise is made by a relay. It may very well have a real name, but I don't know it.

Cheers,
Roy

It’s probably the battery. I’ve had that happen bunches of times.
