Default What to do with the exterior of my car? (56k better have time to kill)

I have a 96 EX. I have gotten the motor and interior about where I want it. Now its time to move to the exterior of my car. I def need new wheels. The paint on my car isnt too bad but I want to repaint it anyway. Intead of repainting it the stock color I was thinking about doing an NSX red color, what do you guys think? I want to stay red but I want to do something a little different so I dont look like every other red civic coupe out there. I am also not sure of what rims to get. I was thinking volks but I'm not sure. I'm just looking for some ideas so no flaming and trust me I did the engine first and did it right.

those headlights look a little weird to me. i would get the 99-00 conversion, lower it, get some nice bronze wheels, paint the windshield wipers black. well, thats all I would do.

it looks like you got some windshield nozzle lights...i would take those off too if you got them.

OMG, that is the the first ever riced out looking car I have ever seen in my life that actually has some ***** to back it up. From the outside(or interior) you would never be able to tell what kind of motor that thing is packin'. Holy crap, i still can't believe it. But anyway, I think first and foremost for you would be to change the suspension. Maybe coilovers, or some good springs and shocks, camber kit, and Definately sway bars. I think your car would be set in all the departments except appearance. But just to make it look better which the suspension will do, definately get new wheels.

Since it looks like youd like a little show with your car, id suggest a DOMANI conversion and some nice 17's

wow that car's got some *****! Can't say anything really positive about the interior/exterior but if that's what you like, then hey do your thing I'd personally just drop it, put the stock lenses back in, or the 99-00 front, and find some oem wheels somewhere for a good price, and it'd be good to go, o and i dont think you really need those windshield lighter things..do ya?

thanks for the input. I want something that will be a little more show then just stock but slammed. I hate to say it but everyone hates rice but now EVERYBODY is going for the "JDM" (basically stock) look and that is becoming just as unoriginal as alteza tail lights!

for my car I want something original not what everybody else has call it rice or not.

before you do the exterior, I would suggest you start over with the interior.

I'm not tryin to be a dick but....

Painting interior pieces is not original. Every ricer does that. The so-called "JDM look" can't get played out because it's not about looking flashy. It's about making the car look clean and simple. If people were doing it to stand out, sure, it would cease to work and people would have to move on. Having a nice looking, simple exterior can't go out of style. That's like saying the basic white button-up shirt will go out of style one day in terms of clothes; it can't.

In my opinion, the interior looks tacky....it looks like what every single 16 year old in my town does to their Cavalier. The outside would look good with a front lip, painted side skirts, a CTR grille, new wipers, and to be different....a wings west flush mount wing.

yeah those are not current pics of my interior, I have a good amount of custom fiberglass work that I did like the piece on the center of the dash in the pics above. I also am about done a custom carbon fiber guage cluster. So as far as the interior looking like every other 16yo, trust me it doesnt anymore.

Also I am not saying JDM or "the clean look" will ever go out of style, I just dont want to look like every other civic out there. Also why would I buy a car to play with if I was just going to leave it mostly stock. Thats just no fun. Building and messing with stuff is most of the fun!
