Like the title says.. Stripped the interior awhile back.. went to take the clear plastic off the door frame and there's the white tacky stuff holding it on.. How do you get it off? Even when very cold, the stuff seems very gooey.. like you can't really peel it off..

will paint thinner or something take this stuff off easily? suggestions?

they are gooey no matter what. are you trying to clean that stuff off, or just trying to remove the clear plastic to get to the door lock, etc.? If you just need to get to remove it for a while, just heat up the white gooey stuff and pull the clear plastic. When you're finished, just slap the plastic over the gooey stuff. You can reuse it.

goo-gone works, eh? I've got some of that laying around i think..

Yeah, I'm not trying to ever put the plastic back on or anything.. I need this stuff off permanently..

I don't think heating would be necessary.. it's not as tacky as the stuff that was on my Tacoma's door panels..

I used paint thinner and a rag. It makes a gooey sticky mess no matter what you plan to use. In the end, though the sticky stuff was all gone and the panel was like brand new.

Use PAINT thinnner and not LACQUER thinner. the latter will removw paint while the paint thinner will not.

good luck

That plastic stuff keeps the water out from hitting the door panel doesn't it? Unless you stripped the door panels too.

What's the importance of that clear plastic box held in the plastic do anyways?

comes off best when REAL COLD.

Water even works.... just to prevent the adhesion (keep it from sticking to your hand and anything else that may be near)

Just takes time.

The plastic box im talking about is like part of that white plastic film inbetween the door panel and the door. It's near the speaker.
