How much do you have to mill a GS-R head to achieve 11.0 - 11.5 compression? (stock pistons). Is this possible?
Anyone know the highest reasonable compression you can achieve from milling your head (before the pistons smack the valves)?
Thanks for the info -

STOCK COMPRESSION IS 10:1 you would have to mill the sheet out of it. It not worth it to do that cause when you start adding bigger cams you arent' gonna get the piston to valve clearance you need. Just throw new pistons in there, jdm itr's and you'll be fine. CTR's would work too.

thanks for the info, guys.
so head milling only will raise the compression by a few tenths?
How much do you have to take off for each .1 of additional compression?

generally for every .1 CR you would have to take off .010
ten thousanths of an inch)
so if you wanted 11.5:1 with stock pistons you would have to take off about .150 which would make the head unsuable.........it would distroy the head.......
i can get you a set of type-r pistons for a reasonable price if you want to raise your compression. e-mail me if you think you want to do that......
