CE light after installing AEM intake
okay, a friend of mine drives a 98 civic(SOHC engine). he installed an AEM C.A.I. this weekend and has had his check engine light on ever since. i took a look at it today and it appears that all his connections are good. his sensors are properly connected, etc. he hadn't reset his ECU, so i walked him through that. afterwards i told him to take it out and run it through the gears to let the engine adjust. i need to know if this is a common problem on these civic's or is it just his? anything else i should check? thanks guys
ok, well he doesn't have a code reader so do you think honda will do that for him? thanks guys
I am not sure if the Civics are the same, but on my 3rd gen Teg the CEL will flash a code that can be read. Also, on my 89 Civic, the ECU has a LED which displays the code.
Basically, I am saying you might not need a code reader to find out what is wrong. Maybe someone else can step-in and give more info.
