I recently did a nice swap to my 2001 gs-r. I put in a a b18c5 block, ported b18c1 head w/ itr valves, valvetrain, ctr cams, skunk2 mani and 8.8 flywheel. After i put that in I idle really bad so I scanned the car and both my o2 were bad so i replaced them and the car idles better, but is still rough going from 900-almost 0 and stallying out. its a intermintent idle problem. I think the problem is that i'm still running a stock OBD2b ecu. any others out there have this problem?

my b16 does this. it is a really rough idle all the time. it started to happen after i put too big of cams in and start floating valves, i pulled out the cams within a week and it has still been doing it ever since. oh well the motor will be out in a week or so and ls vtec will be going in

 

waht cams did you have? b/c I only have CTRs i wouldn't thinkg it would give me a rough idle. thanks for the help

 

i had top fuel stage 3 cams. big *** lobe cams, you should have absolutely no problem with ctr's

 

do you think the stock ECU is making the IACV act crazy b/ce its not stock ne more and the compression went up?

Have you tuned the car yet? If not then I would.....

Also, do you have aftermarket Pulley setup? I had a unorthodox pulley and it made my idle rough aswell (stalled a few times). It was a bitch, i would never get one again......I was on ITR cams at the time.

 

i don't have nething to tune. I'm putting a FPR in next week that's about it. but other then that i have nothing.
