Type s swap pro's and con's
I am about to swap my f22a out and put in a h22a of some sort. I know i want to go with jdm for the extra power. Now, would it be worth the extra money to get the type S h22a. I found one for 3400 w/ trany and all things needed to swap. Or do I got the the normal jdm h22a with 2000 trany, ecu, lsd for 2650 shipped. Is it worth it for the type s? would the type s be just as good to start modding as the jdm h22a? Also I shouldn't has any trouble putting the type S in my 4 gen would I thanks.

well if you're getting the type s swap for 3400, and the reg h22 for 2650 and the fundamental difference being the high cr pistons...

don't pay 750 bucks for type-S pistons.</TD></TR></TABLE>
so then i think it would be worth it for the cams, port and polish, and pistons for that extra $750

i'd agree. i correct my prior ignorance.
but bah what do i know other than being the king of understeer?
my question is, the type S motor/tranny has ATTS, therefore it does not have a mechanical LSD, correct? in that case, i'd say that the H22 w/ LSD for 2650 is what i'd go with because, as cool as ATTS is, it's still not an LSD.

true, he will have to find an SiR S-spec motor (which everyone sells as a TypeS motor). and i highly recommend it. i love mine.

Its a waste of money anyway you look at it. Buy a regular JDM h22a with an LSD and use the difference in $ to buy an SMSP or Hytech Header and you'll have more power than an SiR S-spec motor

But if I went the path of the "normal" h22a. I would get a torque curves that is not as good as the type S, Correct? The headers would possibly make up the HP but not the torque curve. I am kinda set on the idea of a Type S engine, as of moment. So the type S will come with ATTS? If so will it work with a 4th gen? Finally I figure the S-spes id the type s correct? thanks
You can get it to fit, but goodluck on wiring it up to work as it is a pain. Go with the S-spec motor as you are starting with a more powerful motor, you can usaully get the company who is selling the engine to swap the tranny's for a little extra cash.
